Just

Just judgement
Weighs down on all flesh.
But who can judge with justice?
We all fall short;
Hypocrites;
Our goodness is conditional.
Who of us is truly altruistic?
Yet we know who is to blame.

But surely wickedness can't win!
Blessed are those who get away with it,
And enjoy the fruits of their evil?
No!
There has to be more than the judgement of history;
A numinous reckoning.

And how do we escape,
Who bare much blame?
Petty but cruel, treading carelessly,
Studiously indifferent;
It's not my problem.
It all has to count doesn't it?

Is death an escape?
It's  a mercy to the rest of us,
An escape from perpetual evil,
Perpetuated maybe but at least
The person is gone.

But what of those who die suffering?
Is there no answer to their pain,
As they watch the quiet passing
Of the violent who maim,
But are never touched by justice?

My sense is that everything counts.
All revealed beyond sense
Where heaven meets earth.
Not a science I see
As it can't be disproved.
Faith is another truth;
Mystery.

And faith in a God,
Just and merciful,
Says,
All is absorbed in him.
He takes it all.
A mystery;
All is made good in him.
You can walk clean.
Only turn to him and know
Your truth in his truthfulness.
You are purified who seek righteousness,
Receive.

Only God
Judges justly
Who never falls short.
Jesus whose life paid the price
In an ever new embrace
Receives the dead into out poured life;
Adopted,
While those who accept no blame
Wedded to pride,
Twisted and depraved,
In the pain of his death
Are torn from his sight
Perishing in all ages
Perpetually lost.

But surely life isn't just one great test
To see if you realise
This hope, forsaking all other hopes
And persevere to the end,
Despite pain, wickedness and fear.

If so,
The hope once found
Would be realised
In death as a mercy,
Life's end being
Life's end.

Is the mystery maybe,
All is conceived in God,
Knitted together in love,
Released to love
In the age we know.

Touched by all ages
We live in the truth of
What was, and is to come.
The I we are
Is the I we come to be
Though presently marred.

We live an age to come;
A Kingdom prepared;
All birthed in the ever being Creator
In an age of iminence.

Perfected in our wills
Our wills are perfected in this life.
In the presence of the
Ever present age to be.

Joined with principalities and powers,
We all fall short
Of the I set in us.
At odds with the Creator.
This coming age is destruction,
A Kingdom of fire.

Joined with Christ
Bought by his life
We inherit his age.
His coming age is life
A Kingdom of light.

And both Kingdoms
Break in now.

As we live in the now,
What we are
And what we are to be,
Is made present
Though out of this time;
Transcendent.

So life is not a test
It's a birth
A constant call
To choose.
We get to realise
The ever present hope
That all is made
Good
In the Word who makes all things new.

Our rebirth
Renewed now
Takes us from darkness,
Brings us into the kingdom of light;
Jesus, the light of all,
Takes all who choose Life,
Gives the Holy Spirit
And secures the Father's call,
As we live the life of God's Kingdom

Death in this age
Brings the day of God's judgement;
Life or destruction,
Already lived.
Perfected through the fire
Of Christ's life, death and
Resurrection,
Life's promise is
Lost or gained.
